Building the New MFA
Huntington Entrance on the Avenue of the Arts reopens April 23.
Changes Are Coming!
The Huntington Entrance on the Avenue of the Arts reopened April 23, restoring the Museum's north-south axis as originally designed by architect Guy Lowell, and giving visitors two ways to access the heart of the Museum and Sharf Visitor Center. Explore some of the key entrance improvements.

New Galleries Opening
Other changes around the Museum include new gallery openings and some installations of American art.

    A lot of exciting transformations are taking place at the Museum. Here are some of the major milestones in Building the New MFA:
  • Openings of the State Street Corporation Fenway Entrance and the Sharf Visitor Center in June 2008.
  • West Wing entrance closed in March 2009.
  • Reopening of renovated Huntington Entrance on the Avenue of the Arts in April 2009.
  • The new American Wing opens in November 2010.
